The CBC reports today that a new deal may end the painfully long-running Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) strike. That means, for us here in la belle province, we may soon be able to drink something other than the eleven dollar wines and Fin du monde¹ fourties sold at the dépanneur² down the street.

1 - Fin du monde: A brand of triple-fermented Quebec beer whose name means "The End of the World".
2 - dépanneur: French for "convenience store", usually shortened to "dep". Should only be patronized if SAQs are closed.
